India Art Festival
A unique blend of cultural events form an integral part of The Aura Calendar. We have had very interesting programmes ranging from the purely classical to the modern. Our Art Festival is looked forward to, by the public of Trichy, mainly because we introduce talented and popular groups that have never visited our town.
The Artist
This February we bring to town a unique Bharata Natyam performance ‘When Walls Dance’ by Prachi Saathi an accomplished Bharata Natyam performer who has been practicing this art for more than 2 decades. Presently she is training extensively under the tutelage of her Guru Smt. Rama Vaidyanathan. She has had the opportunity to perform at the prestigious Royal Festival Hall, London as a part of the dance ensemble of Pandit Ravi Shankar’s only opera called 'Sukanya'.
WHEN WALLS DANCE
A unique production featuring a coming together of different artistic practices across different storytelling mediums to trigger important conversations about the relationship between man and nature. The performance combines Bharata Natyam, spoken word, and music against the backdrop of animation & tribal Warli art to tell the story of a little girl Champa, and her beloved tree.
This piece has been developed keeping in mind children and adults.
